He is a public speaker, inventor, and an expert in the study of the universe’s oldest light, the cosmic microwave background (CMB), using it to learn about the origin and evolution of the universe. Keating is a pioneer in the search for the earliest physical evidence of the inflationary epoch,<1> the theorized period of expansion of space in the early universe directly after the Big Bang. In 2016, Prof. Keating became a fellow of the American Physical Society. Brian is a commercially licensed, multi engine and jet rated pilot and aviation enthusiast. He volunteers as a pilot for Angel Flight, providing free air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other needs. He is a Board Member of the Fleet Science Museum and is active in the San Diego Jewish Community. He lives in La Jolla California with his wife and 5 children.
