Mon June 4 - Brigadier General Ken Chrosniak - Our Vulnerable Power Grid

Join us tonight for an informative look at the basic elements of electric power generation from a source of generation right to your homes. Then let's have a discussion of the vulnerabilities of different segments of the electric grid which supports everyday life in our homeland. Finally, what are the existential threats to that extremely vulnerable electric grid, and what should be done to protect our fellow citizens. BIO: Ken Chrosniak enlisted in the Army in 1965 and serve 37 years of military duty in the Regular Army, Army Reserve, and the National Guard. He was promoted by New York Governor George Pataki to Brigadier General in 2005. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Daemen College, a Master’s in Education from Saint Bonaventure University, and is a graduate of the Army War College. He has served in numerous command and staff assignments in the U.S. and overseas in Vietnam, Bosnia, Kuwait, and Iraq. Ken retired from active duty in 1998, but after 9-11 he was recalled to active duty service to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon, where he helped write the National Military Strategic Plan for the War on Terror, with follow-on service in Iraq for several months at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, and later as Commander of the Abu Ghraib Forward Operating Base and detention facility. He returned home for one year, but was recalled again to Active Duty for an additional two years as Chief of Staff of the Pentagon’s Army Asymmetric Warfare Office.
