HAARP Facility to Resume Ionospheric Research this Week

Alaska’s super-power High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) transmitters in Gakona, Alaska, will fire up again for the spring research campaign April 6 – 14. University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Space Physics Group researcher and HAARP Chief Scientist Chris Fallen, KL3WX, told ARRL that more than 40 hours of “externally funded” experiments are in the queue. “Scientists from US universities and government labs will explore the physics of scintillations, magnetic field-aligned plasma irregularities, artificial and natural atmospheric airglow, stimulated electromagnetic emissions, plasma waves, and radio-enhanced ionization,” Fallen said. “The HAARP transmitter is still at 80% net power, but by summer...

Are bizarre ‘square clouds’ proof US CONTROLS weather through mysterious HAARP project?

VIDEO of a strange giant "square cloud" in the sky has sent conspiracy theorists into overdrive with claims it proves a top-secret US weather control program is REAL. The video, which has appeared on Facebook, YouTube and conspiracy theory websites, is said to have been filmed in Tuscon, Arizona. It shows the massive weather phenomenon spanning across much of the sky. As the camera pans around, the cloud seems to have perfect 90-degree corners to give it the appearance of a square. The video sparked wild speculation after being posted to Facebook. After seeing the clip, Lino Nappa said on...

Human Activity Will Heat Alaskan Skies--Deliberately and Picturesquely

In the middle of a snow-draped forest in Alaska, a long four-hour drive east from Anchorage, sits a cleared 30-acre field where 180 silver poles sprout from the ground and reach 22 meters into the air. During four nights this week the poles—actually interconnected radio antennae—will spring to life after three years of dormancy, and heat the highest wisps of our atmosphere directly above. The antennas belong to the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), a former U.S. military facility near the hamlet of Gakona. The array will beam 2.1 megawatts of radio energy into the ionosphere—the region that...

HAARP research campaign planned

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute is planning its first research campaign at the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program facility in Gakona. The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program facility near Gakona includes a 40-acre grid of towers to conduct research on the ionosphere. The facility was built and operated by the U.S. Air Force until August 2015, when ownership was transferred to UAF’s Geophysical Institute. Members of the public can follow one of the experiments in real time. Chris Fallen, assistant research professor in space physics, will be conducting National Science Foundation-funded research to create an “artificial...

Scientists Invite Conspiracy Theorists to Check Out Alleged Mind-Controlling Weather Machine HAARP

For decades, tin foil fashionistas have attributed a number of sinister happenings to the atmospheric research program known as HAARP, including hurricanes, earthquakes and even the destruction of the Space Shuttle Columbia. After this week, however, it will be a lot harder to entertain those claims: On Saturday, the supposed weather-altering secret weapon is holding an open house. “We hope that people will be able to see the actual science of it,” a spokesperson from the University of Alaska, which now operates the facility, told Alaska Dispatch News. “We hope to show people that it is not capable of mind...
