NASA Wants to Build Boomless Supersonic X-Plane

NASA has taken a huge leap forward in its quest to create an aircraft that can travel faster than the speed of sound without causing the ear-splitting sonic boom. The space agency announced today (April 2) that it has awarded the aerospace company Lockheed Martin a $247.5 million contract to design and build a new X-plane, known as the Low-Boom Flight Demonstrator (LBFD), which may soar silently over the U.S. by 2022. Today's announcement comes less than two weeks after President Donald Trump signed a federal budget for FY2019 that fully funds the LBFD. In his budget proposal, Trump noted...

Did the Military Crash a Mystery Plane in the Nevada Desert?

The U.S. Air Force has refused to reveal the aircraft involved in a crash last week that claimed the life of the pilot. The incident, which took place at a training facility in Nevada, has sparked speculation that some kind of previously unknown aircraft was involved. The incident took place on Tuesday, September 5. Unusually, the Air Force waited about three days to make the crash public. Consider two other crashes the service reported last week, one involving two A-10 Thunderbolt fighters and the other an Iraqi Air Force officer flying an F-16. In both cases the incident was reported...

World’s biggest aeroplane revealed, plan to deploy spacecraft [video]

It looks like something out of a spy film and has a wingspan longer than a football pitch. The world's largest plane has been unveiled by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen after it left its hangar in the California desert for the first time. The "Stratolaunch" has a wingspan of 385 feet, weighs up to 580 tons and has six jet engines. But it isn't meant to carry passengers. The plane is designed to launch rockets into space from the air, saving jet fuel compared to the process of launching them from the ground and vastly reducing the cost of sending...

X-37B: US military's secret robotic space plane spends 500 days in orbit and nobody knows why

Is it a plane? Is it a satellite? Is it a space weapon? All we know is it's a mysterious robotic space craft that's just clocked 500 days in orbit yet people are still none the wiser as to what it's for. Launched by the US military on 20 May 2015, the unmanned X-37B plane has been circling the Earth on a top-secret mission with no details on when it'll come back to land. Part of the Air Force's orbital programme, the OTV-4 (which stands for Orbital Test Vehicle-4) is the fourth craft of its kind to stay in space...

Paranormal Experts Say Rare 737 Engine Blowout Due to UFO Encounter

A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 flying from New Orleans to Orlando, Florida, made an emergency landing Saturday morning due to an apparent major blowout of one of its two engines. What caused such extensive engine damage? Why didn't Flight 3472 crash? Some of the passengers onboard Flight 3472 report missing time. They reported on twitter that every watch on the plane was off New Orleans time by 4 minutes. Those who study alleged alien abductions say, usually, explicit memories of the abduction experience will not be present, and the abductee will only realize they have experienced "missing time" upon checking...
